 Snowy Times!

Winter weather has arrived! A threesome of American Crows appear to be guarding the closed entrance to the Sarnia Wakeboarding Park.

Buffalo in a snow storm.

When Snow Buntings forage, they tend to crouch down in fields and blend in extremely well with the ground. Deryl was lucky to spy this individual in a nearby tree. Snow Buntings are restless during the winter and will fly to a new spot approximately every 10 minutes.

We have not yet seen the Virginia Opossum, but frequent tracks in our backyard snow indicate one is living nearby. The inner toe of each hind foot is opposable and looks like a human thumb. Their footprints are usually close together, even overlapping as they tend to shuffle while walking.

The power of the water is phenomenal. I found stones washed to shore then frozen together in a clump in the recent cold weather snap.

Snowflakes on my coat!
