 Tundra Swan Songs!

On Saturday we headed past the St. Clair Wildlife Management Area where we saw AND heard approximately 500 Tundra Swans resting during their southward migration!
There was constant movement, both in the water and in the skies!
Many swans could also be viewed resting in nearby farm fields. The Cornel Lab website states these birds sleep almost entirely on land during the summer breeding season but sleep more often on water in the winter.
An Immature Bald Eagle hunting in the area didn't seem to
bother the swans although the duck population was getting a little nervous!
