 Snow and Ice

The cold temperatures over the past few days have brought snow and ice to the area. I walked to the St. Clair River this morning and was in awe of the wintry scene.
"Ice Donuts" in the river, just north of the Bluewater Bridges!

Some Long-tailed Ducks were diving in amongst the donuts. Their needle-like
tail plumes are often wet and underwater so I was happy to see the tail in the air!

Looking out towards Lake Huron as ice from the north enters the river. I heard there was an ice jam in the St. Clair River at Port Lambton this morning and unfortunately flooding is happening to businesses etc in that area.

Canatara Beach has been a masterpiece of Snow and Ice Sculptures.

This one looks like an Ice Volcano!
And to conclude with a "Thing with Wings"...A cute little
Black-capped Chickadee, staying warm by eating sunflower seeds.
