 Here and There!

Deryl found a Snowy Owl on his way home from work on Thursday!

We watched a caterpillar strolling along a Pinery Trail on December 4th! It's a member of the Tiger Moth Family. I'm still waiting for a positive identification.

A hungry Tufted Titmouse was happy to find a peanut in the shell and fly away with it! If he had stayed on the feeder, a Blue Jay would likely have stolen it from him.

I mentioned in a previous blog post about a Blue Jay who imitates a Coopers Hawk to scare away other birds. This Blue Jay can imitate a Red-tailed Hawk! I have not heard them both in our yard at the same time.

White-tailed Deer peeking out from the Teasel.

One of these things is not like the others!  When a flock of Tundra Swans flew overhead, I noticed one bird was much, much smaller. (5th from end of lower line) Based upon the size difference and dark colour, we believe it to be a Blue Morph Snow Goose!!
