 "Spring-ish" weather:

A contented Mallard Drake paddling on a sunny day!
We were also happy to be enjoying the sunshine!

Raccoon tracks in the frozen mud.

During a recent county tour, we saw a young raccoon foraging in the corn stubble. He had very muddy feet from digging in the field.

We saw a flash of movement when he uncovered a mouse house. The raccoon
began a brief pursuit, which quickly ended as the mouse was soon out of sight.

Horned Lark on patrol!

Backyard beauty - Northern Cardinal

Northern Cardinal, female

The ever-adorable Black-capped Chickadee.

Tundra Swans have been heading north and turning around because everything is frozen near the Pinery. This morning I watched a flock of 29 head north-west over Canatara Park. Hopefully they can continue their northward journey uninterrupted!
