Happy Canada Day!

Here is a collection of Things With and Without Wings taken over the past few weeks!

We were privileged to be shown a small patch of
Showy Lady Slippers this spring. Such a beautiful flower!

Ontario's only lizard! The 5-lined Skink with its beautiful blue tail!

Not another lizard, but a Spotted Salamander resting on the forest floor.

Although it appears large in the photo, this tiny Milk
Snake wasn't much larger in length or diameter than a pencil.

Last thing without wings. I hoped this White-tailed deer had a fawn with
her, but unless it sneaked around in the long plants, she probably did not.

Damselflies and Dragonflies are easier to find with the warmer weather.

A Tawny Emperor, sunning in a forest opening.

Lunch time for a young Downy Woodpecker!
